Voting is now well underway for the 2018 SEMA Board of Directors, and I can’t thank you all enough for the amazing level of support that I have received from all corners of the aftermarket industry. I am truly humbled by your likes, shares, phone calls, and personal emails. I am especially grateful for the industry leaders who have stepped forward to endorse my campaign – you can find these on the “endorsement” page of my website.
Throughout the campaign, I have thought about the hundreds of friends that I have made because of our shared love of high performance automobiles. Three years ago, while at the SEMA Show, I met Joe and Josh Amodio from New York Mills, NY. It was their first trip to SEMA, and they were a little overwhelmed. The Amodio brothers own a performance shop that they call “New Age Hotrods”, and they do all sorts of builds focusing heavily on late model GM performance vehicles. But, they also do high end custom builds with European and Japanese vehicles as the foundation.
What impressed me then, and still impresses me to this day, about Joe and Josh is that they have boundless energy for this industry. Every day, they push each other to learn more, perfect their craft, dream bigger, and provide excellent customer service. This is the very foundation of this industry. Small shops, small manufacturers, personal engagement, and like-minded individuals sharing this passion for personalizing the automobile.
Amongst the many endorsements that I have garnered during my run for the SEMA Board of Directors, I am proud to include Josh and Joe Amodio on that list. And, I hope that I can win a seat on the Board so that we can continue to work and fight for people like the Amodios. Their lifestyle, their hard work, their vision of the future of the high-performance automobile is something that I can proudly help defend, fight for, and, hopefully, expand into new markets.
